Now the blushing is really starting to show and while preserving the mottling, thin layers of blush and fleshtone are still being applied. I blend my colors on the palette and the doll. Blending on the doll gives a smoother transition. Care must be taken when blending directly on the kit for the unbaked paint will also lift off the vinyl.
Still many more thinly applied layers to go. In the past, I have rushed this process with great heartache by applying the layers to thickly and too many before baking. When I did, the paint literally cracked and rubbed off.
With patience, each and every layer pays off, because they all show through the next which gives a really nice 3D effect.
